Biography

Brenda Wilson was elected to the Havelock Board of Commissioners in 2013 and re-elected in 2017. Brenda has been a resident of Havelock since 1978. She and husband Mike moved here while Mike was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and now, call Havelock home. She has been a Realtor in Havelock for over 40 years "Opening doors to New Beginnings" for many families. She is also a current member of the Havelock/Cherry Point Rotary Club along with other trade organizations.  As part of the Havelock/Cherry Point Rotary Club, she assisted in the original planning of the Waterfront Park, Boat Ramp and Gazebo located at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center. Brenda served Craven Community College for 24 years as a member of the Board of Trustees and their Foundation Board.  Brenda served on the Board of Directors of the Havelock Chamber of Commerce for many years and was a founding member of the Havelock Chamber Military Affairs Committee.

Brenda believes Havelock needs more successful businesses to attract more customers to Havelock. As a Realtor, Brenda has an opportunity to help promote Havelock. She and Mike owned CENTURY 21 Home Realty for 15 years.

Board Representation

Commissioner Wilson is currently appointed as the Board of Commissioners Representative to the Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation, Craven County Tourism & Development Authority (TDA) and the NC Military Affairs Committee.

Personal Life

Brenda was married for 51 years until Mike’s death.  They have 2 sons, Wayne and Randy, and 1 Grandson, Brennen. Brenda is an active member of Cherry Point Baptist Church and serves as Chairman of the Directors and Chairman of the Stewardship Committee.
