City Hall (2)Administrative Services provides support to the Mayor, Board of Commissioners, City Manager, City Departments and most importantly, to the citizens of Havelock. The department includes the City Clerk's Office, Human Resource Office and the Tourist & Event Center.

City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's Office is charged with a wide variety of duties. Clerk is one of the oldest positions in local government, dating back to biblical times. By law, each city in North Carolina must have a clerk for its governing board. Important records of the city are maintained by the clerk permanently for the use of future generations.

Human Resource Office

The Human Resource Office provides services for the city's 120 full-time employees as well as the part-time and temporary seasonal employees. Major responsibilities include recruitment and hiring assistance to the city departments, benefit administration, new employee orientation, payroll processing, and keeping a listing of all job descriptions and vacancies. The office is also responsible for ensuring city compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws.

Havelock Tourist & Event Center

The Havelock Tourist & Event Center is a multi-purpose facility that combines state-of-the-art meeting rooms with a United States Marine Corps Aviation Exhibit and visitor information center. The center's main hall is 7,200 square feet and can accommodate 500 for banquets or 700 theater-style seating events. This flexible space can also host 44 exhibit booths. 

The main hall can be divided in half to handle two simultaneous events. A well-appointed conference room is also available.
